Colin J Powell was born in 1963 in the leafy suburbs of Armthorpe near Doncaster, just as “The Beatles” were making their way into stardom.

With the benefit of an older brother's record collection, Colin grew up loving the sounds of the 60's, especially the Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Shadows.

At age 16 he bought his first proper acoustic guitar, an Eros Acoustic 6-string from Fox’s Music Store in Doncaster. It wasn't long before he formed his first band, much to the joy of the neighbours! Several years later Colin had played a major role in some of the regions finest cover bands including The Buskateers and Fashion Fever.

Always wanting to make his mark as a soloist, Colin took the decision to stride out on his own in late 2007 and is now touring the country and available to book through this site.
